As we approach mid April, with the longer days and improving weather, it isn’t long until we get to celebrate National Bike Month in May.
First created in May 1956, National Bike Month was introduced to celebrate the bike, as well as all the benefits it has provided to millions across the World. Including being linked to reducing poverty in Asia and Africa where there is at least one bike in the household, and general health wellbeing through increased exercise and mobility.
It is also the time to look back to the advent of the bicycle, which as a Scottish active travel infrastructure business we have a close infinity to where it rumoured to have all began!
May also celebrates Move in May and Physical Fitness & Sports Month with emphasis on maintaining exercise – what a more perfect way other than to dust off that bike to fill two needs in one deed.
